Welcome to Alternative Energy Racing The UK’s Only Green Energy Drag Race! You don’t have to believe in global climate change to realise that burning fossil fuels is a bad thing. There are all sorts of good reasons to look to the future for personal transport and even racing right now and prove that performance doesn’t have to be polluting. Alternative Energy Racing is now in its third year, and once again we are using the dragstrip to show what alternative fuel and zero emissions vehicles are out there. The event is open to companies, individuals, universities, colleges and clubs, and all types of vehicles are welcome, provided they are powered by energy that can be produced in a sustainable manner. That could include biodiesel, bioethanol, biogas, electric, hydrogen, compressed gas, and even synthesised fuels.
It’s a great opportunity to promote what you are doing to make motoring more environmentally friendly, and a chance to show that your technology really works. If you want to take part, please visit the Contact Us page. ALL SUITABLE ENTRIES GET FREE ENTRY AND TRACK TIME! Racing takes the form of Drag Racing: whoever can clock the quickest time over a quarter mile from a standing start is declared the winner. There will be two titles contested in 2010, that of Zero Emission Vehicles and Fastest Alternative Fuel Vehicle. The date of AE Racing 2010 is Friday 23rd April. Racing takes place in sessions all afternoon. Alternative Energy Racing 2009 - Report Alternative Energy Racing is now over for 2009.
